INERCO develops environmental and social management system for Marcona and Tres Hermanas wind farms in Peru, in accordance with Equator principles

INERCO Peru has developed the Environmental and Social Management System (SGAS, for its Spanish initials) and the Environmental and Social Management Plan (PGAS) for the companies running the concessions of the Marcona and Tres Hermanas wind farms, owned by COBRA PERÚ; this was carried out in accordance with the Equator Principles and the IFC Performance Standards.

In addition to these actions, INERCO supervised the Environmental and Social Management System during the operations phase at the Marcona wind farm (PEM, for its Spanish initials) and the construction phase of the Tres Hermanas wind farm (PETH). The company is responsible for the implementation and audit of the SGAS plans at both wind farms. The projects covered environmental management, industrial safety, occupational health and community relations for the project.

The Marcona wind farm in the district of Marcona, Ica department, covered the installation of 11 wind turbines, with a total investment of US$ 61.1 million. The Tres Hermanas wind farm, in turn, is located in the district of Marcona in the department of Ica, and comprises a total of 33 wind turbines, an investment of around US$ 185.7 million.
