INERCO successfully concludes environmental awareness-raising actions for citizens of Friaspata as part of the Friaspata-Mollepata transmissison line

INERCO Peru, which carried out the environmental impact study for the Friaspata–Mollepata transmission line, has successfully completed a series of over a hundred workshops included in the citizen participation action plan for the local population.

More specifically, INERCO, which advised the Friaspata–Mollepata transmission line on what form the Citizen Participation Plan should take and what actions should be carried out, included mandatory and complementary processes of citizen participation in its proposal.

The mandatory actions comprised a series of participative workshops held before, during and after the preparation of the environmental impact study, while complementary actions were carried out through the placement of suggestion boxes made available to users and social outreach visits.

INERCO organised 118 workshops, of which 103 were participative and 15 were public lectures. The workshops involved the participation of a technical team distributed between three brigades, each made up of five professionals: speakers on the environment and on social issues, a social manager, a translator and a public relations specialist. The workshops were run in three rounds (before, during and after the preparation of the environmental impact study) and the average participation at each workshop was 50 people at each event.
