INERCO<\/strong><\/a> has carried out consulting for the development of the document Climate Public Expenditure and Institutional Review (CPEIR)<\/strong> in the framework of the Readiness programme of the Green Climate Fund, led by the United Nations Programme for Development (PNUD)<\/strong><\/a> and the Colombian National Department of Planning (DNP).<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

This project, in which KPMG has also collaborated, has identified the level of development and relationship between public policies and investments made for the management of climate change in Colombia<\/strong>, in mitigation and adaption. With a multidisciplinary vision, the challenge was tackled from three different perspectives: public policies, investment in the private sector and measurement of investment results.<\/p>\n

The project included an exhaustive review of development policies on a national and sectoral level to identify their contribution to the National Climate Change Policy<\/strong><\/a>, a review of investment in the private sector and an assessment of the level of efficiency of public and private investments in the sectoral management of climate change. With all of this information, we verified the handling of the management needs for the fulfilment of Colombia\u2019s commitments acquired in the Paris Accord<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

For Laura Fern\u00e1ndez Baco<\/strong><\/a>, General Manager of INERCO<\/a> Colombia<\/strong>, this initiative is a milestone in the management of climate change in the country, \u201cdue to the analysis of an essential factor such as climate change in such a multidisciplinary and specific way for Colombia.\u201d In this respect, she highlights the significance of the results obtained, \u201cwhich were presented by the director of the National Department of Planning at the 2017 Climate Finances event and will be published in the country\u2019s CPEIR document.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
