INERCO develops social management programmes to inform and raise awareness about the Internet Access programme in the regions of Cusco, Ayacucho and Huancavelica

The broadband Internet installation programme in the regions of Huancavelica, Ayacucho and Cusco that Gilat Networks Perú is carrying out is supported by the work of INERCO within the important field of Social Management.

Once the work was finished in the first two regions, where INERCO technical experts led awareness-raising and information workshops for the population of these large rural areas, in December 2017, the work in the region of Cusco was subcontracted.

Specifically, the project included training in Spanish and native tongue (Quechua) with the aim of explaining to the inhabitants of the rural villages the benefits of Internet that would interconnect them with the capital of the region as well as the capital of the country.

For the putting into operation of this important social project, INERCO created methodologies and teaching material adapted to the population benefitting from the project, around 200,000 inhabitants of rural areas in the country. In the same way, the simultaneous deployment of 40 social specialists was required for the execution of the training sessions.

Through the implementation of these projects, the populations of over 500 villages in rural areas in these three regions of Peru will have Internet and Intranet Access, through installation in public bodies, education centres, health centres and police stations, in such a way that the improvement of communication and inter-regional social cohesion is encouraged.
