INERCO participated in CONAMA, in the session on Emission Rights Trading 2021-2030: Joining efforts before the European Green Deal

On Monday, May 31, the face-to-face session on Emission Trading 2021-2030 was held at the National Environmental Congress (CONAMA): Joining efforts before the European Green Deal (ST-5).

This Technical Committee was coordinated by Jose Mª Cascajo López, head of climate change and sustainability at INERCO, on behalf of the Official College of Industrial Engineers of Western Andalusia.

The first session discussed the transition between two periods of the Emission Rights Trading Regime by Irene Vergara (Spanish Office for Climate Change) and the prospects for market evolution, with the current level of right prices at maximum historical, by Iker Larrea (Factor). This was followed by a debate with the additional participation of Jeannette Ferreira (Instituto Superior del Medio Ambiente), Cristina Rivero (CEOE) and the coordinator.

In the second block of the session, the review and concerns of the sectors involved by the CEOE and the role of verifiers in the 2021-2025 allocation process by Fernando Segarrra (AENOR) were presented. To end the event, Jorge Pina presented Endesa’s commitment to climate change.
