INERCO COORDINATES TRAINING WORKSHOPS TO RAISE AWARENESS OF THE IMPORTANCE OF FORESTS FOR THE MITIGATION OF CLIMATE CHANGE IN PERU

INERCO Consulting Peru is carrying out a total of 23 training workshops for the Ministry of the Environment, in the framework of the implementation of the National Strategy on Forests and Climate Change in Peru (ENBCC in Spanish), a commission of the National Programme of Forest Conservation for the Mitigation of Climate Change (PNCBMCC in Spanish).

This project is part of the efforts of the Ministry of the Environment to generate future environmental assets, through the sale of carbon credit.

In particular, the strategy proposes measures for reducing the rate of deforestation and degradation of forests, under an integral management approach for landscape and development which is low in greenhouse gas emissions and the conservation of carbon stocks.

Therefore, the workshops that are being carried out among the population encourage awareness of the actions of ENBCC to contribute to the achievement of the Programme’s objective. This initiative is being carried out in the Regions of Piura, Lambayeque, Tumbes, Junín, Cerro de Pasco, Ucayali, Loreto, Huánuco, Amazonas, San Martín, Cusco, Madre de Dios, Puno and Arequipa.
