INERCO performs risk analysis for an offshore platform in Brazil
INERCO has conducted a study of industrial and environmental risk analysis and risk management plans for a major oil multinational in the design of drilling and production facilities in the Bacia de Campos (Brazil).
Specifically, the project is being developed in two phases. A first phase of drilling and preparation of 2 underwater wells, the installation of the equipment and underwater lines, the positioning and anchoring of an FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) vessel and the connection to the land system and start of production. In a second phase, six additional underwater wells will be drilled.
In particular, the work develloped by INERCO Brazil’s Industrial Safety team has focused on the comprehensive identification of the risks arising from these facilities and activities, as well as the assessment of such risks. Subsequently, plans for the adequate management of risks have been defined, a strategic document for the safe operation of the facilities.
As aknowledged by Alfredo Ramos, Executive Director of INERCO Brazil and Portugal, “INERCO’s experience in the field of industrial safety for the oil&gas sector is a guarantee for large operators in the sector, both offshore and onshore”. In this sense, other references in Brazil of this type endorse this capacity of INERCO, with projects for Petrobras in the field of Occupational Hygiene on platforms and the company’s maritime units.
