INERCO Brazil´s participation in a new risk analysis methodology

INERCO ADVISING THE BRAZILIAN ASSOCIATION OF LIQUID TERMINALS AS AN INTERNATIONAL EXPERT IN OCCUPATIONAL RISK PREVENTION AND INDUSTRIAL SAFETY

The Brazilian Association of Liquid Terminals has invited INERCO Consultoria Brasil to intervene as an expert to develop the new risk analysis methodology for chemicals terminals. INERCO Consultoría Brasil will contribute its technical and field experience to this new methodology, which is mandatory for all ports in Brazil. This work strengthens the company’s position with the support of the INERCO Group as a proven national and international expert in occupational risk prevention and industrial safety.

In this context, INERCO Brazil has become the leading safety consultancy for companies in the chemicals sector based in the Port of Santos. Due to the fire that took place there in April, the Ministry of Labour and Employment has published a series of 33 mandatory technical safety standards for all industrial installations at port terminals.

INERCO Consultoría Brasil is advising companies in their immediate adaptation to these health and safety regulations. Specialised technicians have recently prepared reports for a number of companies including Granel Química (Odfjell Group) and the Brazilian AGEO Group, which have implemented the proposed safety recommendations at their own facilities.

INERCO Consultoría Brasil has also carried out checks on fire protection systems according to the regulations of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the worldwide leader in fire, electronics and building safety, and has proposed improvements for the operation of emergency plans with a view to preventing the types of problem seen at the Port of Santos.
